Endives with ham

Ingredients (serves 4 people):

- 3 lbs.
of endives
- 8 slices of ham
- 2 tbsps of butter
- 1 teasp of flour
- 4 tbsps of cream
- 1 glass of milk
- 1/2 cup of grated white cheese (gruyere)
- salt and pepper


Directions:

Cook the endives with salted boiling water for 45 min.

Drain them very carefully.

Place the endives on the ham slices and roll them inside.

Place the rollers on a buttered oven safe dish.

Make a Mornay sauce by heating together butter, flour, milk and grated cheese.
Put salt and pepper, according to your taste.

Pour the sauce on the ham rollers, sprinkle with grated cheese and put in the oven until the tops are brown.
