Preparation : 20 min
Cooking : 35 min

Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 small coffee cups of milk
- 2 cups of flour
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teasp of baking powder
- 1 teasp of vanilla extract
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise
- 1 teasp of '5 spices'
- 1 teasp of cinnamon
- some cane syrup (facultatif)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.(180°C)
In a pan, gently heat the milk with the cinnamon stick and the star anise so that it infuses.

When it is quite hot, add the diced butter and let it melt.

Remove the cinnamon stick and the star anise.

Put it in a bowl, gradually add in the flour while mixing in order to avoid lumps.

Add in the baking powder, the vanilla, the brown sugar and eggs.
Mix well.

Add the cane syrup, the '5 spices' and the ground cinnamon.

Taste to check on the spices.

Butter a cake mould, put the preparation inside and cook for approximately 35 min at 350°F.(180°C)
I have a heavy hand when adding the spices. You can adapt the quantity of spices depending on your taste.
